  Skype Video Skype is an app that is used to face time and connects with other people through video chat or through text message. Skype is very easy to use and has several uses. What's great about Skype is that you can use it as a way to call people's cell phone numbers. You don't need to accept friend requests to call people. If in need of food or have an emergency, you can use Skype to call whoever is needed. Skype has adapted to many new changes in the app. Skype can be downloaded on phones, laptops, and tablets, through Alexa and on Xbox. With all these different ways to connect to people, it widens the possibilities of who you would like to call or text. Skype also has many cool features like screen recording, recording the call, and many features while in a call like a raise your hand option. Skype can be used for business calls, or just as a way to connect with friends.

     Chapter 5 in The Connected Educator talks about how important it is to use different tools to support connected learning. There are many tools used to help connect with others. Early in the chapter, it brings up tools for documenting and archiving learning. These are important because it allows the user to track what they have found on the internet. The Three ways to track new information are social bookmarking, Delicious, and Diigo. Social Bookmarking is great to use because it keeps all the information you found organized. Delicious is a website that is capable of finding tags to find other web pages similar to what the user is looking up. Diigo is also a website that is similar to Delicious. Diigo is more enhanced than delicious, giving the user the ability to annotate, use sticky notes, or highlight key information right on the webpage they are on. These are important sources to utilize when trying to keep track of all the websites and information you found....

The Connected Educator Chapter 6 Summary - Tyler Tarabocchia

 The main idea in Chapter 6 of The Connected Educator is personal learning networks. These networks help people obtain more knowledge through other people. This can also be seen as connections or relationships. With these connections with other people, these communities grow and help people learn and become leaders. "[Personal learning Networks] consist of streams of people, information, expertise, learning objects, and images that are of interest to you" (Nussbaum-Beach and Hall 92). The benefit of having a personal learning network is the ability to learn from other people that share a similar goal and gather knowledge and ideas from them. From there, you can pass on that newly learned knowledge or just continue to learn from others; that's what makes learning communities so great.  Finding the right community is also important to note when trying to find a personal learning network. Quizlet is a tool that reviews any topic students work on to help them remember their work easily. With all the of different game modes it provides, it makes Quizlet a great choice for any student of any age to use and learn.  Quizlet has been a tool that not only I use, but students everywhere use. What makes Quizlet so great is that it's easy to use and very convenient. After finding or creating a Quizlet, you can then go study. Next time you log on, the whole quizlet saves and you can go right back to studying with the different and unique styles Quizlet provides. Quizlet is a great tool to use, especially as a student, when in need to review for any upcoming quizzes or tests.
